Model Check-in by Nassia Matsa
Between castings, campaign sets, and backstage chaos, model and writer Nassia Matsa has been quietly documenting the fashion industry from the inside. Model Check-in, her miniature photobook turned bag charm, brings together candid, unedited photographs taken while working with houses including Dior, Prada, Balenciaga, Chanel, and Burberry, offering an intimate counterpoint to the polished images we usually see.
Borrowing its title from the backstage process every model takes before a show, the project playfully transforms the endless stream of phone snapshots and Instagram stories into a tactile object that can be carried, collected, and flipped through offline. Equal parts collectible object and visual diary, the publication is inspired by the intimate scale of Lucian Freud's Her Majesty the Queen, the deliberately pocket-sized format subverts expectations, while the completely unedited photographs preserve the spontaneity and imperfection of life behind the scenes.
The first edition has already sold out, with pre-orders now open for the next release. You can also find the photobook at Brother London, Milkwhite in Athens and in Hydra Bookstore in Hydra island, Greece.
