"Closet" Julie Vojtovics
Julie Vojtovics is a costume designer and researcher whose practice is rooted in material history. She works extensively with antique dress, military and utility wear, studying how garments are constructed, adapted and altered through use. Her research extends beyond clothing to tools, industrial materials, heavy equipment and architecture - anything that reveals the relationship between function, form and the human body. She is particularly drawn to age, wear and repair, and to the unexpected beauty found in objects made for practical purposes.
