ACT LIKE YOU KNOW ME by Pippa Garner
Pippa Garner was born, not for the first time she's sure, on May 22, 1942.
During the week of Paris+ par Art Basel, we celebrated the birth of the first ever monograph of Garner's art ACT LIKE YOU KNOW ME at After 8 in Paris.
Edited by Fiona Alison Duncan and Maurin Dietrich (director of the Kunstverein München), ACT LIKE YOU KNOW ME introduces as many new images of Garner and her art as there are on the Internet already. This decade-spanning documentation of her practice is complimented by the words of authors and artists Shola von Reinhold, Dodie Bellamy, Hayden Duncan, Glenn O’Brien, Nancy Reese, Paul Ruscha, Cooper Lee Bombardier, and Garner and Duncan who bring intimacy to art history.
The book is published by Bierke Books on the occasion of Pippa Garner's traveling exhibition at Kunstverein München, Kunsthalle Zürich, 49 Nord 6 Est – Frac Lorraine, and White Columns (opening November 3, 2023). ACT LIKE YOU KNOW ME is translated from its original English to French by Mona Varichon with Fanny Gonnella.
